In a study performed by researchers at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, more than 75% of flavored electronic cigarettes and refill cartridges were found to contain harmful chemicals that are associated with a severe respiratory disease referred to as “Popcorn Lung”.  Even though there are more than 7000 types of E Cigarettes on the market today, like cannabis, they are not regulated by the FDA – leaving unknowing users open to health and safety risks.

Vape Pens, a device rapidly growing in popularity in the cannabis industry in recent years, also often utilize these types of flavorings. Additionally, there are issues with the glues used to manufacture the devices creating harmful vapors which are subsequently inhaled by the user. As the health and safety organization for the cannabis industry, FOCUS recognizes and has created the standards to protect patients and consumers in the absence of regulation.
